My Favorite Serena & Lily Pieces on Sale!

The Serena & Lily’s sale is underway, and I’m sharing all my favorite Serena & Lily pieces from Snowberry … and the Folly.

Serena & Lily is one of my favorite home and lifestyle brands. Their pieces – from furniture and accessories, to lighting, rugs and tabletop – are light, airy, classic, but modern and evoke an easy, breezy, casual, coastal lifestyle. Whether you live on the coast, or not – I do not – there’s a lot to love.

We talk a lot about buying quality over quantity and Serena & Lily falls into the former category and that means sales are the perfect time to bring home wish-list pieces. Pieces you’re sure to love and treasure for a long time to come.

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite Serena & Lily pieces from Snowberry. And, I’ve updated the post to include pieces I’m eyeing and buying for the Folly, our new house.

Furniture

Serena & Lily’s Southseas Console was the very first piece of furniture I bought for Snowberry. It had been on my wish list since long before we started the renovation and I was thrilled to snag it at Serena & Lily’s outlet. If you don’t live near the outlet, not to worry – waiting patiently for one of the four yearly sales will save you a bundle … generally 25-40%.

The Southseas style comes in a bar-cart – that I already bought in the earth (darker) finish for the Folly’s covered patio – and a side table too.

Along the same lines, their Scallop Rattan Side Table is a perfect bedside table situation.

Lamps & Lighting

We sold nearly all the furnishing in our Fidalgo Island house, but one item we kept and brought home to California is the Westerly Bone Inlay lamp. It works beautifully behind the sofa on the Southseas console.

Snowberry’s dining area beaded chandelier is a custom piece from Ro Sham Beaux. They make a similar style for Serena & Lily, the Malibu chandelier.

The Pacifica Outdoor Pendant in the guest room is another outlet find. Yes, it’s meant for outdoors, but it works just as well indoors and I couldn’t find a fixture I liked more.

The Hattie table lamp is another favorite in Snowberry’s primary bedroom.

Our last year at Snowberry, I added a small countertop lamp in the kitchen. It’s a copycat of Serena & Lily’s Como petite table lamp that comes in six gorgeous colors and several shade options.

I jumped on the rechargeable lamp trend with gusto and it transformed our outdoor table dining situation. I still use candles, but the back patio gets a gentle – and welcome – breeze but it’s a loosing battle to keep the flames from going out, even inside a protective hurricane. Flameless candles are a great option too, and the current versions are so realistic.

Anyway, I added these cute raffia lamp shades, they just drop on, designed for rechargeable lamps. The shades come in wicker too.

Pillows, Trays & Throws

Pillows, trays and throws … my decorating mantra. If you’ve been following for a while you know that I’m a less-is-more-in-all-things-decor sort of gal. I tend to place my furniture once and leave it be. An easy – minimal effort – way of changing things up seasonally is to switch out pillows, trays and throws … and Serena & Lily is a perfect source of all three.

These are some of my favorite Serena & Lily throw pillow covers … the Pryce collection,  the washed velvet, and the Bowden covers with fringed edge. All come in many color and size options. Note that pillow inserts are sold as a separate item.

During a sale a couple of years ago, I pulled finally the trigger on two Beaufort trays I’d admired for the longest time. The trays come in four sizes – including square and round – and the largest size fit into Snowberry’s built-in shelves perfectly. The trays are currently packed away in storage, and I have the perfect place in mind for them in the new house.

This Scallop rattan tray is a favorite and a staple for entertaining. In an effort toward downsizing for our move, I passed it along to a friend’s daughter and she’s already put it to use as a drinks tray for parties.

The round tray on Snowberry’s beverage bar is part of the 3-piece brass and enamel Marine set that’s no longer available. Round trays are so versatile and I’ve accumulated quite a collection. Serena & Lily’s round Spinnaker tray is a classic. The Marine tray is still offered in two rectangular sizes and a tiered option that I kind of love.

My oversized, round woven tray on top of the great room hutch is no longer available, but Serena & Lily has a ton of beautiful trays – round, square, rectangular – for indoors and out. And who says trays have to function as trays. Popping it on top of the hutch softened things up, added texture and solved a storage dilemma.

I’m a collector of birchwood veneer patterned trays. They’re lightweight and I use them indoors and out. Sometimes I place them inside larger trays, especially woven trays, to create a more stable surface for drinks pitchers and food platters.

I should also mention a drinks essential … coasters. Serena & Lily’s woven Catalonia coasters are my favorite and I should order another set during the sale because I use them constantly.

Bedding

Serena & Lily has some of the prettiest sheet sets and duvet covers. Snowberry’s guest room sheets (similar) and duvet cover (similar) with the swirley embroidery border are my absolute favorite. And I’m a sucker for a gingham.

I recently bought the Sutter linen comforter and shams for our pied-à-terre. They’ll definitely make the move to the new house.

Area Rugs

Serena & Lily is an amazing source for beautiful, high quality rugs … indoors and out.

I bought a pair of blue velvet sofas for Snowberry’s library before coming across Serena & Lily’s Oakmont hand knotted wool rug. It’s a perfect pairing and the rug’s terracotta, blue and gold colors really pulled the room together.

During Serena & Lily’s last sale I bought their Loleta hand-knotted rug for the downstairs den.

Outdoor Living

Serena & Lily is all about outdoor living and it’s the first place I turned to for Snowberry’s outdoor decor.

Adding a mirror to your outdoor space will reflect the surrounding greenery instantly making the space feel more expansive; a tip I discovered after purchasing Serena & Lily’s Capistrano indoor/outdoor mirror. And perfect for Snowberry’s back patio which is rather small.

The mirror is no longer available but the Norich rattan mirror is similar and I love the Rattan mirror trio. Neither is labeled as an outdoor mirror, but I feel that hanging a standard mirror outdoors works if it’s protected by an overhang during the dry months and stored away during the wet ones.

Serena & Lily seems to specialize in outdoor pillow covers and has a huge selection. I chose green and white stripes and florals for Snowberry’s patio. They’re not inexpensive, but they’re beautifully made and extremely durable. My pillows wrapped up their sixth season and are still going strong.

Remember that most pillow covers are just the covers, and outdoor pillow inserts are purchased separately.

It’s not easy to find pretty outdoor throws, and mine are not made for outdoors. Colorful throws will fade so keep that in mind. I make an effort to keep mine out of direct sunlight as much as possible, but it’s a loosing battle and I accept it.

Snowberry’s green and white Palermo cotton throws aren’t available anymore – which is killing me – and I hope they return.

The Beach House Utility Blanket is perfect for picnics. Or keeping everyone warm on cool nights.

It’s a good time to stock up on pretty beach/pool towels for summer.

And since we’re talking about outdoors … rugs. Serena & Lily’s outdoor rugs are the best.

Outdoor lanterns add an enchanting glow around the patio and I adore the Summerland lanterns. Mine are in storage and I can’t wait to unpack them at the Folly. Check out all Serena & Lily lanterns here.

I recently invested an eight 5-piece place settings of Sabre bamboo flatware. I’m saving it for the new house. Also for the new house, I’m eyeing the Tofino wicker and glass hurricanes.

Wow, I didn’t realize how many Serena & Lily pieces I had at Snowberry. I throw the word ‘favorite’ around pretty loosely, but I think in this case it truly applies to everything.
