“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”
~ F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Last night was the harvest moon and tomorrow it’s officially fall.
It’s time.
To pull down the fall decor bins
Last year, our first fall season at Snowberry, I shared my tips for adding seasonal decor to your home without driving yourself insane.
This year, I’m taking my own advice.
I tried holding off buying real pumpkins until October.
But, the next couple of weeks are super busy so it’s happening tomorrow.
Yep, tomorrow.
The porch pumpkins are coming.
And I’ve done a little shopping.
Very little.
Here’s what’s new.

First Impressions
It’s important to make a good first impression.
So most of my energy is devoted to the front porch.
I ordered this eucalyptus and lambs ear wreath for the front door.
Isn’t it pretty?
After Thanksgiving I’ll add a festive ribbon and it will see me through the holidays.
Are you a fan of the layered doormat look?
About a month ago I picked up this woven doormat to layer over a plaid rug.
I love the combination of neutral and plaid tones and can’t wait to set them out.
Last but not least my doorstep lantern.
I’ll fill it with little pinecones and mini pumpkins.
Snowberry’s front porch will be fall-ready by the weekend.
Making an Entrance
Sticking with a neutral theme, I found this cotton and cashmere throw for my foyer bench.
And, a subtly striped lumbar pillow.
I’ll top it with an ivory, cloth pumpkin.
And, that will be that.
In the Kitchen
The kitchen is my favorite (ahem … easiest) place to add a touch of the season.
Wooden bowls and platters filled with colorful, in-season fruits and veggies.
A quick trip to the grocery store or farmers market and you’re set.
Last year I used apples and oranges.
How inventive.
A fall themed cookbook in a cookbook stand is another way to bring the season into the kitchen.
If I’m feeling really on top of things I’ll clip a few branches from the yard and plop them in a vase.
So easy it practically cheating.
As for the rest of the house …
In the great room it’s all about pillows, throws and pumpkins.
Wicker pumpkins.
Pillows are my weakness and one of the easiest ways to change up a room for the season.
As for throws one can never have too many.
Repeat after me…
Pillows, throws and pumpkins.
Pillows, throws and pumpkins.
Pillows, throws and pumpkins.
Well, I guess it’s time to stop chatting and start doing.
I can’t wait to show off Snowberry decked out for fall.
Stay tuned.
