JENNI KAYNE TIERED SEERSUCKER DRESS

The Jenni Kayne Summer Dress is my go-to favorite white dress for summer. Lightweight and flowy it’s the definition of easy breezy and ideal for hot summer days and nights. The seersucker fabric means no ironing or steaming … making it ideal for travel. It was in my suitcase for our recent trip to Italy.

RAILS AVRIL DRESS

Rails is one of my favorite brands for dresses and their Avril dress has been on my radar.  Made of a crisp cotton, this tiered, midi-length pullover dress screams summer.

Their Lucia dress is another universally flattering classic.

J.CREW VINTAGE HIGH-NECK TANK DRESS

I love the neckline and cutaway shoulders on this J.Crew tank dress … it’s such a flattering style. With ribbed bodice and tiered skirt this is another easily wearable go-anywhere summer dress.

THEORY A-LINE LINEN BLEND DRESS

It was love at first sight. Seriously. Theory’s A-line linen blend dress was a last minute addition to my Italy wardrobe and by far the favorite dress I wore on the trip. A little more tailored and polished, it’s an ideal dress for the office too. Does anyone still go to the office? I’ll be wearing this dress well into fall, with this linen-blend jacket I bought to pair with it. This dress is a timeless classic that will be out of style. Update: This dress is 30% off right now at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!!!

J.MCLAUGHLIN ELANA DRESS

J. McLaughlin’s Elana dress is a beauty for a fun occasion. With a nice capped, flutter sleeve … for those of us who aren’t excited about sleeveless.

There’s also a nice 3/4 length sleeve on the linen Riviera dress … a good everyday summer run-around-town dress.

BANANA REPUBLIC RAMIE PINTUCK DRESS

Talk about easy breezy … and a little bit romantic … and it has 3/4 length sleeves!

I’m also a fan of the Isa cotton dress. If you’re hesitant about the cut-out trend (like me) this is a great option to tip-toe in.

MANGO BELTED LINEN DRESS

Mango’s belted linen dress is so elegant. And look at the back!

I also like their Textured Skater dress, which is along the lines of the Jenni Kayne and The Drop tiered styles.

LOFT FLUTTER SLEEVE BUTTON MIDI DRESS

The Flutter Sleeve Button Front Midi dress by Loft reminds me of a popular Rails style … at a fraction of the cost.

Their Striped Flutter Sleeve Swing dress is another fun, shorter option.

ANTHROPOLOGY SOMERSET MAXI DRESS

Anthro’s Somerset Maxi dress is legendary, right? Everyone raves about it … including me. And now it comes in white eyelet. Summer perfection.

Leave it to Anthro to hit it out of the park with another eyelet number. I need an occasion to wear their Vineet Bahl Eyelet Halter dress. Stat. Oh my gosh, so good!

UNIVERSAL THREAD A-LINE MINI LINEN BLEND

My niece bought this dress a couple of months ago at Target and I shared it on the blog. It’s the most popular piece of clothing I’ve ever posted. Talk about versatile … running errands or at the beach, it’s just so light and easy to wear. It comes in several other colors. Yes, it’s on the short side. But unless you’re a super tall, willowy model (if you are, I like you anyway) it falls at a nice length.

Ideas for Accessorizing White Summer Dresses ~

Truth be told white dresses run the risk of looking a little nurse-uniform or first communion. So accessories are important. I lean towards textural materials, like woven and cork.

And I like gold and textured earrings.

Black accessories are super chic too.

For chilly summer evenings, a denim jacket is always a good choice. For dressier occasions a light-weight wrap. And how about a black leather jacket to elevate the chic factor?!

As always I appreciate your visit and welcome your thoughts in the comments below.

I’ll be back Saturday when I join Kim and Elizabeth for our weekend inspirations.

Until then, cheers from Snowberry!

  • I live in SW Florida and am always looking for perfect white dresses. I have loads of colorful and black dresses that work in this climate, but white dresses are like hunting for the great white whale. They are very hard to find in a style I like – something in a light, easy-to-care for fabric (white needs to be washed more frequently), with a sleeve without puffs or ruffles and midi length without flounces. Unfortunately, I have returned more white dresses than I own. You are so right about looking like Nurse Ratchet in them, and your accessories here are perfect. I may give the Jenni Kayne dress with sleeves you’ve featured a go – it checks almost all my boxes.

    • Nurse Ratchet is exactly what I was thinking! You’re right … a white dress has to be just so. Hope I gave you a few ideas and good lucky with your search! xo

  • Juliet what a beautiful collection you have pulled together here! So many fun options. I have a white Rails dress and a white shirt dress from Club Monaco. I think I need a new one this summer… Going to go shop your options now!
I love that Theory dress on you. Reminds me of a Donna Karan dress I once had. The Jenni Kayne is also lovely!!
    You look great in everything.
    xo

    • Thanks, Kim, the Jenni Kayne would look so cute on you … I love the lightweight seersucker fabric. Totally your vibe. xo

  • I have SO many pairs of the Sam Edelman “cut out” slides you wore in your Italy pic. Aren’t they just the most comfortable & versatile? I honestly think I have at least 8 or 9 pairs.
I love wearing dresses too Juliet! Again, so versatile and SO comfortable. Especially here in hot, humid Florida.
Glad your trip to Italy was a good one (not sure how it couldn’t be based on the food alone, right?).
    Hugs, Scarlett

    • Scarlett … you’re right they’re the best! I have several colors too … no other shoes are needed! 😉 I don’t envy you the hot weather. It’s warming up here and we can’t handle it! xo

  • Hi Juliet,
You selected some pretty white dresses, there is something for everybody.
My favorites on you for all the reasons you stated are the same exact ones Kim choice.
    You look good in both.

  • Juliet,

White is the perfect color to wear on these incredibly hot days! I love all of your selections and in fact shared several on a post I wrote last week. Great minds think alone.
You look beautiful in all of your outfits but I love the Theory look the most.
As for the Sam Edlemans’ I second the comment above, I have about 10 colors and love them.

    See you Saturday!
    xo Elizabeth

    • Oh, really?! You’re right … great minds think alike. I had to expand from the original 5 dresses … to seven and then 10 and had to make myself stop. It’s very hot here too. But like what you’re experiencing. Did I complain about our unusually cold and foggy June?! See you tomorrow! xo

  • Tassel earrings are the epitome of fun, and these colorful ones are pure joy! They’re like wearable confetti, and I cannot help but smile when I discover them.|
