Having recently moved back to California after two years in coastal Washington, we settled into temporary quarters and began our house hunt. The housing market was, and still is, hot and we anticipated a challenging and lengthy search.
We concentrated our search in the Lamorinda area, a community made up of three small towns, including my hometown.
On our third weekend touring open houses we were exhausted and discouraged. Ready to call it a day we decided to power through to the last house on our list. Good thing we did because as we pulled into the driveway of that last house we looked at each other and smiled. There it was … our house!
Walking through the house confirmed our initial impression. It also created anxiety as we overheard the real estate agent saying she had several offers in hand and expected more by the next day’s offer deadline.
We immediately called our realtor, Kelly Wood, a premier buyer’s specialist at The Dana Green Team, who got right to work.
Long story short, we made an offer, prevailed in the bidding process and 10-days later Snowberry Cottage was ours.
See my post on Snowberry Cottage before.
Let the fun begin!

Hi Elly, You’re right! And, you did make me aware of Norlyn being on the market which got the whole ball rolling. I think you bought Norlyn in 1987 and I remember look at fabric with you for window coverings and the cute window seat in the master bedroom. Oh, and you’re wing back chairs!
